flora resort spring/summer 2014

for this wedding reception at the Mandarin Oriental last friday, our dear client wished to engage her arriving guests to a leisurely time at the foyer before continuing into the ballroom for the main event.  the client's fancy for mid-century chicness prompted us to transform the newly refurbished foyer into a luxe lounge replete with glorious flower gatherings.

we had a lot of fun with this design for a wedding reception at the Shangri-La recently.  although the design motifs were traditional and simple, we made the look contemporary and chic with the lovely choices of colors and accents.  the flowers were gorgeous and they show off beautifully under the pin lights.  see for yourselves...

metamorphosis

for the second look of the day, we layered the initial pale palette with lovely lilacs, purples, pinks and champagnes.  with the addition of colors, the mood changed significantly.  yet a more profound transformation took place on stage when we removed the white drapes to reveal a coterie of ornate frames that reached to the ceiling.  textured, gilded and embellished with mirrors, the oversized frames completely changed the look of the pelamin and provided the focal interest for the evening.

resplendent

the parade that ended serenely on saturday was succeeded by this burst of exuberance at the Sime Darby Convention Center the next day.  colors that were discreetly contained on hantaran vessels during the nikah ceremony were now unabashedly displayed on the pelamin, aisle decors and the main table for a remarkable reception dinner.
