breaking monsoon
our angels took an early leave at the end of last ramadan in order to regroup in Kota Baru on the second day of Eid Fitri for another exciting assignment. a client had requested for an English garden themed wedding in his beautifully planned private residence overlooking the Kelantan river. the focal point of the occasion would be the pelamin incased in a sunroom facing the client's well-manicured garden. of course, we breathe and live drama. so, in order not to take our client's request too literally (or bore our angels indiscriminately), we decided to interpret the theme quite differently. our inspiration for the pelamin came in the image of a giant crystal chandelier crashing down onto a garden, spewing shards of broken glass helter-skelter, raining glittering debris all over, resulting in a spectacular and memorable sight to behold. and judging from the reaction of our client and his guests when they saw the spectacle we created, we believe that we've succeeded in bringing our inspiration to life!

superfluous
't was another grand occasion at the Shangrila ballroom, recently, where the wedding reception of Noh and Nina was held. 't was also another delightful affair for our team where we got to paint the occasion with our choice color combination of regal purples, blushing pinks and a sprinkling of refreshing greens. our adornments began at the main entrance where a canopy of abundant roses and hydrangeas greeted arriving guests. the lofty arrangement blended perfectly with the ornate borders framing the door while mirror columns ringed with ruffled fabric and pedestals topped with effusive gatherings added depth to an otherwise flat setting. block candles in tall smoked cylinders and tea lights in clear votive cups finished the look with just the right amount of glimmer. a length of red satin with metallic borders ushered the way into the ballroom.
inside, the ballroom was awash in pink glow reflected off the white curtained walls. to the left of the satin trail was the high table where select guests and the newlyweds sat behind a long table draped in sequined luxury facing a row of lush flower gatherings on mirror boxes punctuated with triplicates of candles in chrome stands, tall cylinders and votive cups. to the right, upon transparent louis chairs, regular guests dined around tables draped in equally luxuriant sequined overlays topped with snug but lush floral gatherings with accompanying candles in trios of chrome stands and triplicates of votive cups.
beyond the dining guests, we set up a capricious pelamin of florals, fabric and fantastical crystals that mirrored the look of the main entrance. we started with a tall backdrop of cut mirrors arranged squarely within a boxed frame. to break the monotony of the arrangement, we added a layer of smaller mirror squares arranged diagonally over the first layer. we then soften the crisp hard look of the squares with glorious fresh blooms that we arranged tenderly over the sharp edges. in front of this backdrop, we placed a double-tiered half-moon dais bedecked with mirror tiles upon which we positioned a pair of gilded chairs upholstered in fine jacquard. next, we erected companion panels to the sides of the backdrop. these we embellished with soft pleated fabric layered with a dazzling curtain of raindrop crystals.
finally, we brought in gatherings of bountiful hydrangeas and roses on high vessels and low mirror boxes. we arranged these accordingly on the stage and along the steps leading to the dais. we placed candles in smoked cylinders amongst the gatherings and hung a crystal chandelier above the dais to cast a glorious shimmer upon the entire spectacle.

middle earth
fairy lights and white blooms glorified the surround of this client's home in Petaling Jaya where an akad nikah ceremony was held. our team had a splendid time decking the venue with brilliant lights and copious amounts of raindrop crystals and apple blossoms, transforming an otherwise regular evening into a magical experience. we set up transparent tents with crystal chandeliers for guests to dine, sitting on white chiavary chairs around tables covered in sequined silver overlays. we adorned each table with gatherings of roses and hydrangeas in resplendent colors garnished with samplings of succulent grapes and berries. the highlight of the evening was the pelamin with its lush canopy of apple blossoms and hanging tea lights. we arranged beneath it a plush settee upon a double tiered dais covered in rich silver carpeting. of course no pelamin of ours is complete without our flowers! this time, we created two explosions of colors on oversize rustic urns at one corner, trailed by a detritus of equally explosive colors to the left and right of the settee.

exuberant
a dear friend of ours, the dashing Zed Zaidi, finally tied the knot and celebrated his big day with a reception dinner at the Dewan Perdana Felda. we were elated to be a part of the celebration, lending our floral touches to this auspicious event. as our friend is such a casual sort, we made sure that the affair is anything but insouciant. but we were also mindful as not to go OTT with the decor. we started our routine with our quintessential canopy entrance. sheer white curtains tucked gracefully to their posts in staggered sequence created a greater illusion of depth while bold red borders added the small detail that made all the difference. water candles and fresh gatherings of roses and orchids floating in clear cylinders finished off the look of the entrance. we carried on the welcoming round with a narrow corridor cloaked in silver fabric to invoke a sense of anticipation to guests entering the hall. once inside, we surprised the guests with an abundant composition of vibrant gatherings in yellows, reds and oranges upon a main table covered with a gold sequinned overlay. beyond this spectacle, we hid the final surprise behind a wall of heavy curtain that was only drawn when the proud newlyweds made their formal entrance. of course, you may scroll down this page to see what the surprise is! our best hopes and prayers to Zed and the love of his life! amin..!
