diamonds and pearls

when a client knows exactly what she wants and explains to us the look of her occasion in precise and tangible terms, it just makes us all the more excited to do our best to fulfill her wishes.  for this wedding reception at the JW Marriott, our client had envisioned a romantic dinner for her and her loved ones in a turn of the 20th century ambiance replete with ostrich plumes, pearls and crystals.  for our part, we had to embellish the atmosphere with light box pedestals to add a soft contemporary feel to the space and a starry-eyed experience to our client and all her guests.

upon the wings of angels

the ambiance inside the ballroom during Jovian and Nina's second reception reflected the muted resonance outside.  but there was definitely romance in the air with the addition of lush gatherings of white phalaenopsis orchids as table centerpieces and butterflies that alighted on the apple blossoms and wisterias.  the gebogan centerpieces seemed content with their previous night's enchantments and observed the day's proceedings in quiet contemplation.   the splendid pelamin with the balinese door panels was replaced by a dramatic pelamin with outstretched wings that embraced the couple during their bersanding ceremony.  Jovian certainly had angelic thoughts when he envisioned its design, it seemed.  our angels had more earthly thoughts when they lavished the pelamin with flowers and more flowers.  the floor was less dense with fewer tables.  more space was afforded to the dance floor below the raining wisterias which sprouted graceful appendages that reached out to shade the newlyweds as they danced away at the end of the event.  we wish the best for Jovian and Nina, and may Allah bless their romance forever and ever.

resplendent

the parade that ended serenely on saturday was succeeded by this burst of exuberance at the Sime Darby Convention Center the next day.  colors that were discreetly contained on hantaran vessels during the nikah ceremony were now unabashedly displayed on the pelamin, aisle decors and the main table for a remarkable reception dinner.

starry night

last wednesday night, Astro hosted a dinner party at the Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa to honor 4 artistes under its wings and we were commissioned to add the sparkle and panache to the event. so we dressed the tables in 3 hues of sequined overlays and topped them with brightly colored posies accentuated with tea lights in clear votive cups, block candles in chrome candle stands and spritely plumes erupting from tall glass flutes. here are glimpses of the venue moments before the guests arrived..

for this wedding reception at the Shangri-La, we featured a classical look with a touch of that je ne sais quoi.
