we also used strings upon strings of pearls to add subtle luxury to the decor of the wedding reception at the Mandarin Oriental last saturday. the soft shimmer of the pearls blended well with the muted light and pale colors of the flowers.

party animals
enchanting, we were told. indeed. if only we could populate the setup with actual denizens of a true rainforest. but lest we ruin the real intent of this reception dinner, suffice it to scatter the treetops with incandescent lights in place of fireflies, bird silhouette lamps for live perching birds, the recorded calls and songs of tree frogs and crickets for the real sounds.
but the bride was so enamored with the overall look and feel of the decor that she canceled her booking of an afterparty scheduled at another venue, requested the musicians to setup their instruments right beneath the tree canopies and invited her crepuscular friends to celebrate her big day amidst all the enchantments till the wee hours of morning. of course that meant more to us than any mention of gratitude.

a long walk to forever
it's always a delight for our angels to work around beautiful architectural surroundings. because instead of otherwise struggling to cover worrying sights, our angels can truly focus all efforts on what they do best. so when Jovian decided to have his big day at the former Istana Negara (now, Muzium Diraja), we reckon it was a great choice for a venue. with endless corridors and passages, the Istana provided ample space and surfaces for our angels to explore. the following images illustrate the paths that Jovian and Nina took to get to the lovingly adorned sweetheart table where the newlyweds sat to dine with their respective parents in front of an audience of dining and adoring guests.

indian summer
it has truly been a remarkable week for us with several events contending for attention. of course we provided each event its due. but the one event, or rather, the series of events that truly kept us on our toes and up all morning, night and day were the three ceremonies for our dear friend Jovian Mandagie who ended his bachelor years by marrying the lovely Nina Ismail Sabri. we were pleasantly surprised when Jovian approached us to help with the decoration as he himself has an established wedding company. but the honor is upon us to take up the challenge and we are eternally grateful to Jovian for having faith in our abilities. we wish Jovian and Nina everlasting love for one another and may Allah bless their union for eternity. so, for the next several posts, we will feature the work that we helped Jovian create during these crucial days at the beginning of the new phase of his life. in this post, we feature the lawn of the former Istana Negara which was converted into a warm winter wonderland for guests to dine in during Jovian and Nina's akad nikah ceremony.
