we also used strings upon strings of pearls to add subtle luxury to the decor of the wedding reception at the Mandarin Oriental last saturday.  the soft shimmer of the pearls blended well with the muted light and pale colors of the flowers.

recently at the Borneo Convention Center in Kuching, Sarawak, we created an experience that not only enchanted our client and her guests but also enlivened the spirits of our angels.  through a dear friend, the talented production designer Raja Malek, we were introduced to our client, Lynn, who charmed us with her wit and a personal style all her own.  her exotic background as a Sarawakian and her betrothal to a man of African descent inspired Raja Malek and us to dream of a wedding theme like no other.

for the akad nikah ceremony, we erected a pelamin that embodied our client's Sarawak heritage and her love for elements that are simple yet stunning.  the pelamin consisted of a representation of a dipterocarp tree upon a silhouette of other (smaller) trees arranged in a crescent row.  during the actual akad, the groom, the imam and witnesses to the proceeding, all sat beneath the lush white canopy of the dipterocarp.  the seemingly austere set up lent a pure and dignified ambiance to the procedure.  the play of light and shadow created a surreal experience no words can describe.

casual collaboration

often times, we collaborated with other event companies to provide the best compromise for our clients when our expertise with flowers coalesced perfectly with the services the other companies provided.  for this wedding reception at the Dewan Perdana Felda, our flowers added an alluring blend to the hardware provided by our counterpart resulting in a charming overall decor that delighted the client.

cool comfort

perhaps a way to alleviate some of the anxieties of the big day is to create a hantaran presentation that is gentle to the senses, pleasing to the mind and comforting to the heart.  maybe gatherings of neutral hues upon silver vessels with simple yet charming textures.  tenderly sway the proportions of the arrangements slightly away from the norm for a gentle tease.  step back and simply soak in the soft nuances..

prelude to a kiss

for this assignment at the Grand Hyatt, our dear client wished to hold both the solemnization ceremony and reception in the same ballroom on the same day.  the pelamins for both occasions were also required to be assembled on the same stage.  because each occasion had its own theme and color palette, the challenge for us in designing and executing both looks was quite formidable.  but we'd rather spare you the unpleasant details and show you the charming outcome of our labor of love instead.  first, the look for the solemnization ceremony...

the pelamin for this akad nikah ceremony last saturday contains plenty of hardness and heaviness in its structures and coverings that would have easily overwhelmed sensitive tastebuds. but we managed to soften the otherwise perplexing vibe it would've evoked with the use of neutral colors, soft patterns and charming details.
