for their 30th anniversary celebration, the people at Yayasan Sime Darby decided to hold a gathering at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC).  appropriately themed to the foundation's focus on the protection and preservation of the natural environment, the people wished to feature representations of endangered animals from the foundation's "our big 9" program in the decoration.  what better way to highlight the animals than to add them to the centerpieces?  so, we set about dressing the tables in alternative copper and olive overlays to evoke an earthly feel. then we created miniature tropical islands on the tables with elephant ears, river pebbles, sphagnum moss and sprinklings of colorful orchids.  we made the islands in different heights and configurations to represent the diversity in our ecosystems.  finally, on the islands, we placed cutouts of the animals from the big 9 list in black silhouettes labeled in green so guests would learn their names.  here's a peek at the look of the evening.

springtime

we appropriated our angels some liberty to indulge with a bit of freeform embellishing for this wedding ceremony at a private residence in Ampang. we aimed to impress upon them the spirit of spontaneity lest we bore them silly with constant pre-plans and what-nots. the resulting pelamin exceeded our prudish expectation and readily reminded us of Seurat's depiction of that particular season somewhere in France.

middle earth

fairy lights and white blooms glorified the surround of this client's home in Petaling Jaya where an akad nikah ceremony was held. our team had a splendid time decking the venue with brilliant lights and copious amounts of raindrop crystals and apple blossoms, transforming an otherwise regular evening into a magical experience. we set up transparent tents with crystal chandeliers for guests to dine, sitting on white chiavary chairs around tables covered in sequined silver overlays. we adorned each table with gatherings of roses and hydrangeas in resplendent colors garnished with samplings of succulent grapes and berries. the highlight of the evening was the pelamin with its lush canopy of apple blossoms and hanging tea lights. we arranged beneath it a plush settee upon a double tiered dais covered in rich silver carpeting. of course no pelamin of ours is complete without our flowers! this time, we created two explosions of colors on oversize rustic urns at one corner, trailed by a detritus of equally explosive colors to the left and right of the settee.
