casual colonial I

recently, we had the honor of working with the incomparable Johnny Roxburgh from The Admirable Crichton for the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards 2014 celebrations held at three different venues in Kuala Lumpur.  apart from having the opportunity to showcase our work to a prestigious pool of celebrities and sports talents from around the world, our team also won the praise and admiration of the man himself, Johnny Roxburgh, who complemented our angels for their absolutely gorgeous and professional work.
our first collaboration with Mr. Roxburgh was at the Carcosa Seri Negara for a welcoming party prior to the main event.  Mr. Roxburgh wanted to showcase the radiant colors of tropical Malaysia amidst the romantic charms of the luxurious Carcosa Seri Negara.  so, our angels took to the task of arranging luscious deposits of orchids, heliconias and gingers in fuchsias, pinks, purples and oranges at strategic corners and surfaces to add much needed color and splendor to the pale walls of the colonial building.  generous sprinklings of pincushions and alliums were added for character and vitality.

galactic funk

it was a breeze for our angels to decorate this launch party hosted by our friends at Samsung.  the chic and organic interior of the Tamarind Hill restaurant embraced our table centerpieces and flower arrangements quite readily as if all was meant to be.  we reckoned our friends at Samsung was most pleased with our previous engagement at the same venue and commissioned us for another.  for their support, we are most grateful.

this year, the challenge posed by our friends at CIMB for their eidul fitri celebration was to create a decor that is far removed from the typical ketupat and balik kampong appeal, or the usual arabian themed approach.   after countless discussions and careful deliberations, our team came out with a contemporary look that not only appeals to our discerning taste but also appeases our client's requirements.  with candles, mirrors and gorgeous displays of floral gatherings, we lit up the newly renovated ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental for the merriment of distinguished guests to the grand occasion.  kudos to all our angels for their labor of love!

astrology

it's already the middle of ramadhan and the festive feel is all around us.  our friends at Astro invited us again to embellish their annual iftar affair, this time at the Hilton.  to provide a look different from that of last year's event and to complement their balik kampung theme, we picked a more vibrant color palette for our flower arrangements.  we arranged rose posies in red, pink and cream alongside lose arrangements of hydrangeas and orchids for the low centerpieces.  for the tall centerpieces, elephant ears provided all the drama.

animal planet

for their 30th anniversary celebration, the people at Yayasan Sime Darby decided to hold a gathering at the Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC).  appropriately themed to the foundation's focus on the protection and preservation of the natural environment, the people wished to feature representations of endangered animals from the foundation's "our big 9" program in the decoration.  what better way to highlight the animals than to add them to the centerpieces?  so, we set about dressing the tables in alternative copper and olive overlays to evoke an earthly feel. then we created miniature tropical islands on the tables with elephant ears, river pebbles, sphagnum moss and sprinklings of colorful orchids.  we made the islands in different heights and configurations to represent the diversity in our ecosystems.  finally, on the islands, we placed cutouts of the animals from the big 9 list in black silhouettes labeled in green so guests would learn their names.  here's a peek at the look of the evening.
