of course the other big attraction during Jovian and Nina's first reception, apart from the two love birds themselves, was the pelamin. Jovian, being a renown designer himself, had already visualized the look of his pelamin in his mind. the challenge for our angels was to materialize his vision for the rest of the world to appreciate. he stipulated the inclusion of these beautifully carved balinese door panels in the design of the pelamin and gave our angels ample freedom to lavish the pelamin with flowers. our angels gladly obliged with profusions of roses, hydrangeas, orchids and tuberoses.

malindo magic
inside the Shangri-La ballroom, the air was thick with magic. whispering wisterias rained down from the center of the ceiling while mythical gebogans hovered above the songket covered dining tables, casting enchanting spells to all the guests. our angels added our own glamor to the gebogans with generous embellishments of roses, hydrangeas and cymbidiums.

tasty traditional
last saturday, we went traditional malay for this majlis akad nikah at the client's private residence in Bukit Damansara. to cater to our client's contemporary tastes without compromising on her traditional tendencies, we melded the old and the new in the decor. we used songket overlays for the guest tables that we decked with contemporary floral gatherings on gold teko basuh tangan. we added vitality to the otherwise austere nikah area with fresh gatherings that we laid out loosely on the windowsills in the background. for the pelamin bersanding, instead of going typical and predictable with ornate floral embellishments on dark velvet, we went simple and chic with a bespoke 'antique' bed pelamin gingerly graced with fragrant jasmine leis, and adorned with pastel colored fresh florals upon a dreamy backdrop of golds and creams. have a look...

brave
for the very first time, we provided floral refreshments, as well as traditional flair, for a majlis berkhatan held at a client's private residence. 'twas a simple affair to celebrate the client's youngest son's coming of age.

tales from earthsea: a prelude
for the assignment in that piece of heaven on earth, we afforded the creative touches of two angels, Iman and Lan, to adorn the windswept oceanfront compounds of the client with our signature floral gatherings. our client was abundantly generous to lend a few delicate hands to prep the flowers for our angels so they could work with ease. apart from decking the outdoors, our angels also created centerpieces for the indoors. in this post, we feature the work our angels did for the dining table in the house. they topped an assembly of clear glass cylinders in varying sizes and heights arranged lengthwise across the table with loose gatherings of locally bought flowers in mostly neutral hues. flashes of bright yellows, oranges, and pinks added vitality to the assembly. lit block candles finished the look, radiating an ethereal glow across the surface of the table, giving the illusion that the flowers were floating on air.

envious
the charming interiors of the newly opened Royale Bintang the Curve provided the most appropriate backdrop for this wedding reception. the client had chosen white and green as the main palette for the decor and we accommodated the choice with touches of creams and silver for depth and texture. the muted colors and uncluttered details in the decor provided just the requisite complement to the simple pelamin that many of you may find quite desirable.
